Hugo Award Ceremony

The 2016 Hugo Awards Ceremony is being hosted by our Toastmaster, Pat Cadigan. Come be a part of the celebration on Saturday, August 20, at 8 p.m. in the Kansas City Convention Center’s Grand Ballroom. Attendees can start to line up for entry at 6 p.m. and doors are set to open at 7 p.m. This event is free to all MidAmeriCon II members, and seating is first-come, first-served, with the following exceptions: finalists and their guests, our Guests of Honor and those volunteers who are working up to the last minute.

Thanks to modern technology, tonight’s Hugo Award Ceremony will be webcast on Ustream & on text by CoverItLive – 8 p.m. Central Time!

The design of the base is left to each year’s Worldcon committee to determine and, for the last few years, the design has been chosen through a Base Design Competition. We are very happy to announce that Sara Felix’s design has been picked as the base for the 2016 Hugo Awards. The winning base will be unveiled at Opening Ceremonies and will be on display throughout the run of the convention.
